Hublot Celebrates Pop Art with Watches for Women

One watch that’s caught our eye at SIHH this year is Hublot’s colourful Big Bang Pop Art timepiece. Inspired by that genre of art popularized by Andy Warhol in the 70s, the Big Bang Pop Art collection includes a series of four styles for women. It comes with pink numerals offset with a pop of apple green, with a date window at 4 o’clock. Pink dyed alligator leather is stitched onto tone on tone rubber, while the clasp is gold as well.


Beijing: Jaycee Chan, son of Chinese kung fu star Jackie Chan, was formally arrested in Beijing Wednesday following a drugs bust on his residence in the capital.


The arrest was approved by Beijing’s Dongcheng district procuratorate, Xinhua reported.


On Aug 14, Beijing police detained many people for drug offences, including Jaycee Chan and Taiwan movie star Ko Chen tung.


Chan and Ko Chen tung tested positive for marijuana and both admitted to taking the drug. Police seized more than 100 gm of marijuana at the junior Chan’s home.


Ko Chen tung was released Aug 29 after 14 days of administrative detention.

Mumbai: Noted filmmaker Asutosh Gowariker, who is all set to team up with Hrithik Roshan again in next project ‘Mohenjo Daro’, says the superstar took three years to say yes for the period drama.


‘Mohenjo Daro’, a love story set during the Indus Valley civilisation, is jointly produced by Disney and Gowariker, who is also directing the film.


“It’s an individual choice, interest and ability to stay interested and keep pursuing. For me ‘Lagaan’ would have never happened without Aamir, similarly without Hrithik I could have never made ‘Jodha Akbar’.


“And also Mohan Bhargav (‘Swades’) would have never been possible without Shah Rukh Khan. The same was true for Abhishek as Surya Sen (Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey). So, for me it was natural that I waited three years for Hrithik to find time,” Gowariker said in a group interview here.


With the film, Gowariker is launching a new face, Pooja Hegde, as the female lead.


The 50 year old director, who launched actresses like Gracy Singh and Gayatri Joshi through his films, said, “The character needed a new fresh face and that’s why Pooja came in.”


‘Mohenjo Daro’ is scheduled to go on floor in November this year. Currently the director is scouting the locations for the film.

Mumbai: Whether a film has a big or small budget does not decide its fate at the box office, says actress Rhea Chakraborty, who believes that her new movie “Sonali Cable” is “strong on content”.


Rhea stars along with Ali Fazal and Anupam Kher in the film, which is produced under the banner of Ramesh Sippy Entertainment in association with Bombay Mania Production Pvt. Ltd. and is directed by Charudutt Acharya.


“‘Sonali Cable’ is not a low budget film, it’s a normal budget film. I don’t think of any movie as big or small, after all what matters is content of the film. I have seen many times in Rs.100 crore films, there is no content. In short, only money is wasted,” Rhea said in a statement.


The movie is about the corporate world and revolves around a small internet broadband company.


Rhea loves masala entertainers herself, but feels “films like ‘Sonali Cable’ also should be made”.


“In our film, there is everything what audience wants to see. According to me, films like ‘Sonali Cable’ are career changing films and only few get such a chance. I’m happy that I did this film,” she added.


Last seen in “Mere Dad Ki Maruti”, the actress is also due to star in Yash Raj Films’ “Bank Chor”.
